NLADA bestowed the Justice John Paul Stevens Lifetime Achievement Award on U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg at the inaugural NLADA Leadership Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, June 27, at the historic Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens presented the Award to Justice Ginsburg in front of a standing ovation. After the award presentation, both Justices graciously participated in an in-depth Q & A session, with all questions posed by event attendees. The nearly 200 guests present were captivated as Justices Ginsburg and Stevens offered their opinions on issues ranging from specialized courts to civil right to counsel.

At its celebratory Leadership Appreciation Luncheon, The National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) will present U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with the Justice John Paul Stevens Lifetime Achievement Award. Justice Ginsburg is honored for her exceptional contributions as jurist, as advocate, and as scholar, to the law of gender-based justice and equality. The event is scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2014, at the beautiful Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., and is by invitation only.

NLADA hosted an unprecedented number of guests at the record-breaking $1.1 million NLADA Exemplar Award Dinner on Thursday, June 26, at the beautiful Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. More than 500 representatives from the equal justice community came together at the Dinner to celebrate the achievements of dedicated advocates from the public, private, and corporate legal arenas.
