Leadership & Race Equity

NLADA defines quality representation as representation that promotes

  • access to courts and fair results
  • increases opportunities that support positive life outcomes and
  • promotes economic and racial equity.

Leadership that is client-centered, community oriented and conscious of systemic bias is a critical tool for achieving quality representation.

NLADA promotes leadership and racial equity through two initiatives that are closely linked to each other and the work of the Association. The Leadership Diversity Committee of the Civil Policy Group guides and informs this work.

  • Equal Justice Leadership Initiative
  • Racial Justice Initiative
